Things kind of stopped this year. I know I’ve been absent – I haven’t felt very bloggy, or like putting pen to paper. Some days I haven’t felt much at all. Instead of the laptop, I’ve needed to pause and concentrate on real life, and not the one we all weirdly aspire to on t’interweb. Continue reading

The Boy turns 1!
Happy birthday, buddy!
So now it’s your turn. One. 12 months that were a mixed bag of long hours and short months, and here we are a year on from our frantic family life of 3 to find that that wasn’t frantic at all. That was a walk in the park… Continue reading
The One for Bear’s Birthday
Hello, it’s been a while…
I’m a bit rusty and out of practice with this blogging business, but I can’t keep putting it off. Which is what I have been doing because I always wanted the blog to make people smile, and I haven’t felt very smiley.
Tomorrow Bear turns 4, and a month today The Boy turns 1. Both massive milestones that I reckon need to be documented somewhere, because amidst the chaos of the last 12 months I am still standing. I have more grey hairs and I definitely drink more gin than ever before, but I am definitely still standing (or sitting on my backside with a glass of wine, but let’s not go into details).
A year ago today I was SO pregnant, massive, waddly and all sorts of moody. Little did I know that the proceeding four weeks were going to be the most normal me I would feel for quite some time. Because last September, things went a bit weird… Continue reading
Birthday business
Well, it’s that time of year again. Cake and presents. This time, somehow, you’re 3. Continue reading
Food, glorious food! (apart from Mondays, when food is rubbish)
I love food. Seriously, I love food almost as much as I love gin and Christmas. Many an evening has been spent with my sister-in-law talking about pretty much nothing but food; the best meals we’ve had, the meals we want, the restaurants we like, then we eat crisps just to get over the self-inflicted hunger of having spent 4 hours talking about food. You get the picture.
Bear, it seems, is not as much of a fan.
Decisions, decisions…why I won’t apologise for mine
I’ll clear one thing up before I even start this post – I am not a Daily Mail reader. I read lots of stuff, but I don’t read that. But thanks to Twitter and the blogosphere sometimes you can’t escape some of its headlines….especially when the headline takes a swipe at me (well, not just me, but my circumstances and my decisions). A Bear’s tale
Hello everyone,
Mummy says she’s lost her writing mojo at the moment (I have no idea what that is, and apparently it’s not edible, so I didn’t give it any more thought). I personally think that September so far has been a pretty fun month – if she thought long and hard about it she’d probably find a whole load of things to blog about, but I’m 1 – I can’t tell her that. I can, however, write a little blog post myself (I know, I know – there’s no logic. But you’ve met my mummy, right? Logic isn’t really something she ‘does’).
Money well spent
The best things in life are free, and money can’t buy you all the lovely stuff like hugs and giggles blah blah blah.
But there are some things money can buy and they have made my life a bit easier this last year. Continue reading
