Pending the consumption of too much food (again) and a few sociable glasses of gin, that’s another year done. 2014 – you were a pretty good vintage, you little tinker. Continue reading
I love food. Seriously, I love food almost as much as I love gin and Christmas. Many an evening has been spent with my sister-in-law talking about pretty much nothing but food; the best meals we’ve had, the meals we want, the restaurants we like, then we eat crisps just to get over the self-inflicted hunger of having spent 4 hours talking about food. You get the picture.
Bear, it seems, is not as much of a fan.
I’ll clear one thing up before I even start this post – I am not a Daily Mail reader. I read lots of stuff, but I don’t read that. But thanks to Twitter and the blogosphere sometimes you can’t escape some of its headlines….especially when the headline takes a swipe at me (well, not just me, but my circumstances and my decisions). Well, peeps, if I’ve correctly read the minds and happy faces of my parents, this last week has been a big one for me. Quite a few things have happened, and I am pretty pleased with myself.
I hate Halloween.
Yesterday I realised something, and it scared me a

I went to Sainsbury’s today and it’s full of Christmas stuff. Now, I love Christmas as much as the next person (to be fair, I probably love it more), but it’s only just October and all this festive craziness sends me into my annual oh-my-God-what-if-I-don’t-sort-presents-and-cards-in-time panic.
Mummy says she’s lost her writing mojo at the moment (I have no idea what that is, and apparently it’s not edible, so I didn’t give it any more thought). I personally think that September so far has been a pretty fun month – if she thought long and hard about it she’d probably find a whole load of things to blog about, but I’m 1 – I can’t tell her that. I can, however, write a little blog post myself (I know, I know – there’s no logic. But you’ve met my mummy, right? Logic isn’t really something she ‘does’).
Anyone else a bit gutted that In the Club has finished? Any 6-part series just about matches my attention span, so I stepped away from the Gavin & Stacey boxset, turned off the re-runs of DIY SOS and thought I’d give this BBC1 tale of pregnancy and childbirth a go. If you haven’t finished watching it yet, don’t read on (and if you do read on, don’t tell me off for spoilers…you’ve been warned!) Continue reading
It’s a common problem, and I’m sure we’ve all been there – the husband has a week off so you plan a load of days out in the local area only for 60 world leaders to descend on your doorstep. OK, not your actual doorstep – I can’t quite picture Obama hanging out in our porch. But you get the idea. Continue reading
